ICT use in my classroom for the month of September, 2022
Lesson I
Class: PP Subject: Mathematics Period: 1st Period Date: 5th September
Topic: Patterns.
Integrating ICT in learning and teaching came to our Bhutanese Curriculum after closing the school due to Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. As directed from the ministry, we teachers were forced to teach through social media specially using Wechat. Later we moved to the more better and convenient one( Telegram). So today most of us are using telegram and google classroom and many more for teaching and learning. Since then, usage of ICT became more important and mandated today in this ICT world. Children learn better and faster through ICT.
Generally, teaching lesson during off and on school using ICT has become easier and faster means of transferring information to our children. It also saves time, expenditure and resources for both the teachers and learners to deliver the quality lesson. Technology has made work even easier and faster to deliver in our own convenient ways.
In this ICT world even small kids know how to use the gadgets in their own better ways. They explore and learn by themselves. It serves a greater purpose by integrating ICT in teaching and learning in today`s ICT world.
On 5th September, I had class for PP on the topic ‘Patterns’. All my PP children were happy and excited to go with ICT. I had downloaded video on patterns and made my children to watch from the laptops in small groups. For some children it was first time handling laptop.
They really enjoyed and most of them understood what is pattern and how to create different types of patterns. I also received many positive and constructive feedbacks from my children.
So, I felt it is good to have ICT integrated lesson while teaching. It was very effective and the children can pay full attention and enjoying the lesson.
